My only regret in all this is that this game 'Active Shooter' is going to cause a lot of pain and anger within people who have been affected by a real-life tragedy. I maintain that a person who is demented enough to commit these types of shootings will do so without a video game to prompt them into action. Our love of blood and gore signifies a morbid curiousity within all of us, but it doesn't make a person a psychopath. Our culture celebrates violence all the time in fiction. I think the key talking point in all this is that people need to stop blurring the lines between fiction and reality. It's pretty disgusting, but is it any more disgusting than an industry that celebrates and profits off of the servicemen who died fighting in real-life historical wars? I do believe that this game is tasteless, insensitive and a clear attempt to profit off of the school shooting mania that is occurring right now in this country. Whether or not this particular game could be a trigger is what's up for debate.

The types of people who commit these atrocities will always find a trigger that sets that person on a path to violence. Demented minds are demented by many other factors, including parental upbringing, social status, living environment, etc. I don't believe playing video games creates the mental illnesses that causes kids to shoot up their schools.
